General Data Named New Member of the Service Industry Association


CINCINNATI – December 22, 2009 – General Data Company, Inc. has recently been named a new member of the Service Industry Association (SIA).

The Service Industry Association (www.servicenetwork.org) is a non-profit association with a network of nearly 200 companies joined to enhance the high-tech industry by promoting an open environment of interdependence and co-operation between manufacturers, independent servicers and users.

General Data’s Service Division (www.general-data.com/service) provides both depot and on-site equipment service to businesses nationwide.  General Data currently services over 10,000 thermal, matrix and laser printers under contract, in addition to bar code scanners and other data collection equipment.  Their depot repair facility is located at General Data’s corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.  

As a member of SIA, General Data will expand its equipment service capability by forming new partnerships and resource alliances.  In addition, SIA training sessions and technical seminars will further enhance the capabilities of General Data’s service technicians, and ensure that they are continually kept abreast of emerging technologies and new ways to better serve customers.
