It’s a simple four-step process, it's free of charge, and we do all the work for you. All you need to do is tell us about your current protocol and processes and provide us with a few stained and unstained slide samples. We then choose the best stains from our formulations that match your protocol and preferences, and deliver the results back to you for your approval.
Learn
Our staff of histologists will reach out to you to learn about your current H&E stain protocol, preferences, and other needs regarding your H&E staining processes. At that time, we will ask for a few stained and unstained slide samples to use as reference.
Match
We then analyze your stained slide samples and match them to the right SHURStain H and E stains, making sure we adhere to your desired protocol and preferences. We then stain the sample slides from your lab to confirm an optimal match.
Review
Our histologists will schedule a time to review the new stained samples with your staff to ensure you are completely satisfied with the results. Any adjustments that need to be made will be processed and new samples will be produced for your review and approval.

A progressive hematoxylin that produces crisp, well delineated nuclear chromatin while eliminating background staining. It produces sharper, more consistent staining which exceeds Gill’s and Harris Hematoxylins. Will not form a surface sheen or require daily filtering. Also available: SHURStain Hematoxylin Plus - a more potent version that produces many of the same staining characteristics with more intensity, and SHURStain Hematoxylin GDH1 & GDH2 - designed to take the place of Gill's 1 and Gill's 2.

Available in four different versions to accommodate the varying preferences in cytoplasmic staining. SHURStain Select Eosin - an alcoholic eosin that allows for exceptional differentiation and contrast between cytoplasmic components and nuclei. SHURStain Select Eosin LITE - produces lighter staining of the cytoplasm with a more pastel appearance. SHURStain Select Eosin Trichrome utilizes a three dye formulation for brighter, more vivid counterstaining. SHURStain Select Eosin Phloxine produces a more reddish stain in the cytoplasm.

SHURStain Clarifiers
Text Description
These uniquely formulated clarifiers increase cell transparency and help to eliminate any background staining caused by adhesives used in the water bath or charged slides, and selectively remove non-specific staining without affecting nuclear staining. After hematoxylin staining, excess hematoxylin is rinsed from the tissue section and slides are exposed to SHURStain Alcoholic Clarifier for 30-60 seconds or SHURStain Aqueous Clarifier for 20-40 seconds.

These uniquely formulated buffers enhance cytoplasmic details, increase cell transparency and help to eliminate any background staining caused by adhesives used in the water bath or charged slides, and selectively remove non-specific staining without affecting nuclear staining. SHURStain Select Clarity AQ is a concentrate added to deionized water. SHURStain Select Clarity AL-70 is a concentrate added to 70% reagent/ethyl alcohol. It produces milder results allowing for more finesse in the clarifying process.
