General Data Receives Special Safety Award from State of Ohio BWC

General Data is the recipient of a prestigious Safety Award from the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation Safety Council.

In conjunction with the Division of Safety & Hygiene, the Safety Councils present Safety Awards throughout Ohio to promote greater interest in the prevention of occupational accidents and disease. Members with the highest safety records are honored at annual awards events.

Safety Awards fall into different categories and are classified based on the achievement.  General Data has received two awards:

  • 100% Award - where a company documents zero injuries or illnesses resulting in a day or more away from work in the previous calendar year.

  • Special Award – where a company achieves at least 500,000 hours and at least six months without an injury resulting in a day or more away from work.  General Data reported 1,576,512 hours with no lost time.

“Safety is always a priority at all of General Data’s facilities, and this award recognizes a great achievement,” said Dave Laurash, Vice-President of Manufacturing. “Congratulations to all of our team who strive every day to keep General Data a safe place to work.”
